Hello All,

What kind of performance can I expect with an integrated notebook GPU adapter of an ATI Radeon HD 3200?

My original developer platform, I use for both work and leisure projects, a Toshiba A205-S4587, doesn't pass muster for the Leadwerk video card requirements. I favor a notebook for portability between my 9:5 and home.

I am a hobbyist/tinker who recently purchased the 2.27 SDK. My exceptions are to be able to fully work with the SDK and the Sandbox/Editor with minimal frustration. That is I am not demanding 1920×1080 at 120FPS just a workable 30FPS with a reasonable resolution say 1280x1024 for testing during development.

My development IDE of choice will be Visual Studio 2008 Professional with the migration path of Visual Studio 2010 Premium RTM using C#.

It can run Crysis at low settings, so you might be able to run Leadwerks with similar settings too:

I don't think you can use higher than 800x500 resolution though, unless you are fine with 5-10 FPS, or with minimum settings.

It will run, but I am not sure how fast that will be.

Thank you for the feedback. I will keep on notebook shopping. Is there a recommended mobile video adapter for Leadwerks development?

I've tested it on a NVidia 9800M Notebook in the store, and was surprised to see it was faster than my 8800.

I have a Radeon 3200 and I got 3-7 FPS in the Island demo with medium details. The underground demo had about 12-18 FPS.

In the Sandbox I got 7 FPS and if I disabled shadows about 20.

My 9800M is working well with Leadwerks. It gets a bit slow when it is a big scene with lots of stuff, but overall it's good for a notebook.
